About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Complete my research and get ready to start my post graduate program!
ABOUT ME
I'm an American presently living and researching in New Delhi, India. I hope to travel throughout the region while I am here. I love exploring historic sites, visiting temples, trying new foods, and learning from everyone that I meet.
(I wish I didn't have to add this, but it has become necessary: IF you are interested in me for romantic or sexual reasons please do not message me or send me unsolicited offers to host me. I am on Couch Surfing as a traveler and explorer, not because I am looking for a boyfriend.)
PHILOSOPHY
I'm rubbish at phrasing it, so we'll go with one of my favorite quotes which sums me up quite well:
"The problem, often not discovered until late in life, is that when you look for things like love, meaning, motivation, it implies they are sitting behind a tree or under a rock. The most successful people recognize, that in life they create their own love, they manufacture their own meaning, they generate their own motivation. For me, I am driven by two main philosophies, know more today about the world than I knew yesterday. And along the way, lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you."
~Neil deGrasse Tyson
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Though at the moment I can't host any surfers, I hope once I am back in the States I will be able to pay forward the hospitality of fellow Couch Surfers.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I have stayed with two couch surfers, once in Mumbai and once in Aurangabad, and had a wonderful time! I am so thankful to have these new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't watch a lot of movies, but I adore a good book. I recently read "Oryx and Crake" by Margaret Atwood. Other books I enjoy: A Son of the Circus by John Irving, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, and The Places in Between by Rory Stewart. I recently started Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, but with all of my work that may take a while.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In July I took a camel ride into the desert near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan with a few friends. Watching the sun set and sleeping beneath the stars in the desert was stunning. It reignited in me my passion for hiking and camping, because I had forgotten how sometimes the most valuable way to spend a weekend is exploring outside, watching the sun rise and set, and sitting by a fire with friends.
Teach, Learn, Share
I worked as a park ranger for the National Park Service in Salem, Massachusetts. In that job I learned that I love helping people explore new places and connect the present to the past. Not sure if that quite fits into Couchsurfing University or not though...
