About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Forcing myself out of my comfort zone and getting the most out of life

ABOUT ME

First of all: I write a lot. Be warned.
While I am open-minded, pragmatic, considerate, quick-witted, and mature, I know how to have fun when the time is right and I have an awesome sense of sassy/cheeky humor.
I try to make good first impressions, but according to many I have that "resting bitch face" syndrome.
I try to understand things from different perspectives and avoid judging people from first impressions. Otherwise I would not know the many wonderful people I know now.

PHILOSOPHY

~Everything happens for a reason. Every person you encounter and every experience can teach you something.
~There is nothing 'out there' that's holding you down- you are limiting yourself only with your own imagination. And your greatest limits are not even the 'cannot' and the 'should not', but the places where your imagination hasn't yet gone at all.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've shared memorable experiences with CS members in Barcelona and beyond, have a lot of friends who host and tell me it's awesome, and I've couchsurfed in Italy, England, and Sweden. I look forward to meeting more of you CS people!
(P.S. I can't host right now, but happy to meet with other travellers/locals for a coffee or drink.)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I´ve couchsurfed in Italy, England, the Czech Republic, and Sweden, and I look forward to seeing my hosts and their friends in the future :)
For the most part my Couchsurfing experience has consisted of meeting up with people, and most were positive. In some cases I did not get to talk enough with the people I met and didn't get to make a good enough connection, although they were nice friendly people (the unfortunate language barrier usually at fault). In several other cases, I have met and gotten to know the people, and we continue to hang out all the time.

Interests

Living abroad (more so than traveling.) Music, concerts, languages, international culture, and learning (whether from intellectual conversations, experiences, or blunt lessons).
I tend to analyze situations from international, educational, psychological & sociological points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, and my mood dictates my music choice. For example, 80s hair metal, Spanish pop, alternative, metal, punk, pop-punk, pop, hardcore/screamo, reggaeton, opera, ghetto hip hop, etc.
If you listen to mostly rock (alternative, hardcore/screamo, pop-punk, etc.), chances are I've listened to or heard whatever bands you're into.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Went on my first plane ride ever after graduating high school and 8 years later, I've travelled to 26 different countries.
-Got dropped off by the side of an abandoned road and had to run across several highways and had to climb the metal freeway barriers in Kaunas, Lithuania quickly before cars drove by. But admittedly that's more ridiculous than amazing :P
-Argued with a Turkish taxi driver because he was driving me the wrong way on purpose. This could have gone awry since I was travelling alone past 1:00am in isolated areas of Istanbul, and he stopped to talk with a group of men at some point. Somehow I left him with the impression that I was a loud, scary woman who was not to be trifled with and got back safely.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you'd like me to teach/practice English, Korean, or Spanish with you, I'd be happy to do so.

I enjoy interacting with locals more than visiting super tourist areas because I do get "agobiada" with all of the people clamoring for a good picture. Also, my best travel memories usually involved being somewhere random and having a great time. (For example, jumping into a lake after being in a sauna somewhere 4 hours by car + boat away from a big city.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Laughter, jokes, stories, advice, recipes, and possibly cook for you.

Spain, United States
