About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live life!

ABOUT ME

Recently finished up my last year at Cornell College in Iowa, studying biology, Spanish, and Latin American studies. I enjoy soccer, foosball, frisbee golf, basketball, and trying new foods and experiences. I love traveling, and practicing my Spanish. So far I've been to Guatemala, Peru, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Suriname, French Guiana, Germany, Netherlands, and Canada...hopefully just the beginning!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in living openly to invite new experiences, living serenely, frugally, without needless harm to others, physically or emotionally. I enjoy the many angles and perspectives in life and aim to understand and experience as many of them as I can.

Interests

I'm interested in different cultures, beers, the World Cup, nature and natural activities (hiking, biking, etc), chess, card games, exploring, and trying new food. I've got a secret dream to just hit the road and travel...maybe one day...

Music, Movies, and Books

I just finished a reading binge of Bill Bryson. In addition to the fact that he hails from Iowa, he's also an incredible travel writer. For movies, I've been trying fruitlessly to try and convince people what Inception is really about, to no avail. Either way it was a lot better than Avatar. Motorcycle Diaries and Eternal Sunshine rank among my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was with 3 friends on a mountain in Guatemala when we were robbed in the classic pincher move by 4 hooded men with machetes. I lost my camera, and they stole some water- apparently mumbling that we had too much water. Our story made it on the U.S. Embassy's list of crimes against its citizens for the month of July 2009; check it out.
