I think having a local experience is probably the most enjoyable thing while travelling. I love the cultural exchange, and I am usually just fascinated by everyone's lives.

I was an infantry officer in Singapore's Armed Forces for 2 years, and have been on overseas training missions in Brunei, Taiwan and Thailand. In Brunei, I completed a 9-day jungle confidence course where they threw us out in the middle of the jungles with 48-hours of rations, a map and compass and a starting location to navigate back to base camp.
