About Me

Although I've always had a home base in Johannesburg, I've moved around the city (country, and world) during various stages in my life. I lived in Germany (Langenargen am Bodensee) for three years, Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape for one year and various suburbs around the city.

I love animals (especially dogs) and try to keep my alcohol intake minimal (no chance of Drunk Me showing up). I eat little (so feeding me isn't a problem) and can take care of my own grooming (it's similar to a cat, but we won't get into that). I don't shed, but I am quite talkative and possibly a little odd (just kidding, it's very possible).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I went to America and needed a place to stay.

My brother and his roommates often host guests and I may occasionally have space.

Interests

I like books (very helpful at my job at the bookstore) but will probably keep books to a minimum while travelling (for obvious reasons).

I love dogs. I've had a few in my life so far, and am currently stuck with my two old ladies, Tosca and Cappuccino (who both about 12 years old). I also have a strange cat-shaped dog called Gin, who meows a lot and spends most of time sitting on the couch, glaring at me disapprovingly.

Earlier this year Chewbaka joined the family. He's almost a year, Chews everything and is generally a big derp.
I am an absolute internet-addict (I use reddit, imgur, KoL, tumblr, youtube, facebook, etc).

Music, Movies, and Books

While I don't really have any favourites, I've cycled through various genres in my life. Currently I'm in a bit of a Pop Music faze, but am actually open to anything (although not a fan of dubstep).

Tbh, I'm not much of a movie watcher, I prefer series, but even then I don't really have favourites (Archer), and will watch anything.

I like Urban Fantasy, but since I work in a bookstore I obviously shuffle a lot here. I'm currently reading a book about people who use words of persuasion (Lexicon by Max Barry) and The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley. I've got The Portable Door by Tom Holt lined up, who is my ABSOLUTE favourite author.
