OUR CURRENT MISSION See the world, meeting people and eat noodles.

Hello! We are Zhijian and Evelina. We meet in 2017 when a little Swedish girl traveled to China and met a boy call Zhijian -in his small town of 6.000.000. And that was the start of an epic love story. (Okey, to use the word epic might a bit of exaggerating but I hope you get the point)

We have since then try our best to travel the world , meet new people and eat as adventurous as we could. Hence why we are on this platform:)

We both love food and cooking , hiking (Evelina is getting older though so her knees wish she would just lay on a couch every day) , going on road trips (Zhijian[without diver licens] got lucky and got a private driver when he meet Evelina) and playing board- and card games. We always travel with a few games in our bags, and that is probably the only thing in our bag we have never argued about if it’s necessary or not.

Evelina loves taking photos and is always running out of space on her phone. Zhijian enjoy to watch movies and taking bubbles bath to unwind. Sometimes Evelina watch some drama-reality shows and somehow Zhijian always ends up next her - Even though he “don’t like the drama” ;)

For almost 5 years did we get to call New Zealand our home in 2019-2023 We travel and lived in our minivan on and off for 3 years, so we are pretty much unpaid travel-guides by now . We worked with fruits like 🥝  🍒 & 🫐 , so if you want to know more about the fruit industry we can be your experts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're genuinely grateful for the chance to meet new (hopefully) friends in unfamiliar places. It means a lot to us when people open up about their lives and share stories

And when we are back at our apartment we can travel the world by hosting and get to explore new places in our town when exploring Vargön (Evelina’s hometown)

We have meet some amazing people over the years from couch surfing and made amazing friendships with people around the world ❤️.
Couch surfing for us it's more than just a place to stay for a night - it's about sharing great times with hosts and fellow surfers. We're not always just passing through; we are here to create some new memories if you have the time for us 🌍

Interests

We love food.
Love sitting at home and planning our dinner, go down to the grocery and shop. Get home and cook it and then the best part, to eat it!

We love playing board games & card games and is always traveling with a few games in our bag( as mention before haha) Because what's a journey without some friendly competition and laughter? 🎲😄

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In January 2020, after living in New Zealand for almost 1 year and reaching the end of our working visa, we had this brilliant idea: buy a van and roll through the country for 3 months. A couple weeks into our van life, we're staring at each other like, "This 'van life' is the best– can we stay forever?" And you won't believe it, but a few days later, New Zealand was like, "Sure thing, borders closed – COVID's here! You can stay for a bit longer"

So, what started as a wish turned into a wild adventure for the next 4 years! Post-lockdown, for a good two years , we had New Zealand all to “ourselves”, like VIP tourists. It's the kind of experience you can't put a price on, and we're forever so grateful and humble for this unexpected twist in our travel tale! 🚐✨
