ABOUT ME
Hello potential surfer of my couch! My name is Crystal Dawn, let me tell you a bit about myself. I live in East Vancouver which is quite close to Commercial Drive which is sort of the more hippie area of the city. Many of the people who live in this area are into sustainable living, organic food, potluck dinners and costume parties! I ,myself, enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, busting a move on the dance floor, arts and crafts, skate boarding, hiking, going to wreck beach in the summer, genuine people, red wine or Guinness(my favorite beer), laughing, hugging instead of shaking hands communal meals, Jim Henson films, and meeting new people like you! I have two crazy cats named kitty and fizgig who will most likely share a corner of the couch or at least sniff at you in interest. I am planning to go back to school to become a cooking teacher for high school but want to travel for a few more years before i once again commit to the books. I am hoping that in becoming an active member of couch surfers, i will meet lots of rad people from around the world who will become a network of my own couch surfing possibilities.
PHILOSOPHY
smile and the world smiles with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just past the break, after getting my butt kicked by huge waves while surfing in Costa Rica, i saw not one, but two sting rays jump out of the water two feet in front of my face one after the other.
I traveled by bike, along the coastal highway to Arcata in northern California, From Vancouver Canada.
Watched an amazing performance in a restaurant/club in Istanbul turkey... Involving a golden hula hoop which dangles from the ceiling, two girls in cat woman costumes and the theme song to pink panther mixed with mission impossible. This happened right in the middle of the restaurant in front of the table i was sitting at!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have just peaked an interest in gardening within the last year( now on year #2 for my veggie garden. I am a novice and am eager to learn more... there is nothing more exciting than watching a tiny little seed turn into food you can eat!
I like to sew when the mood strikes and am a fan of making crazy costumes... Halloween is a big hit for me.
Hula hoop dancing has become quite popular in Vancouver and i am itching to give it a go....
