About Me

I grew up in Washington State, but moved to Santa Barbara, CA in early 2014. I've traveled to 11 countries so far, and am always trying to go more places. My current adventure is leading me around the states--my employer is letting me work remotely for a while, and I'm excited to be "off-leash." I like to explore new places by eating my way through the city and talking to strangers. I've met most of my friends at gyms or through volunteering. I actually think dogs are the reason the universe exists.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people, and couch surfers are some of the coolest! It's a great opportunity to get to know people from other places if you're hosting, and get to know locals if you're the traveler, and it's enlightening in many ways to stay with people you don't know--you learn new things you wouldn't necessarily have thought to ask about or investigate. Plus, it's a wonderful opportunity to meet someone who knows an area well.

Interests

I'm active and easygoing, with an intellectual bent. I enjoy exercising as much as I enjoy a philosophical conversation. Subtext and semantics fascinate me, and I like deconstructing things in an attempt to figure out how the world works. It's hard to sum that up into a keyword.
