ABOUT ME

I'm Efa. I love making my own hummous. I also love falafels and other tasty vegan food. I like making a big pot of food, and sharing it. I'm a folk punk singer, and sing about life and social issues and have played gigs all across Europe, in bars, clubs, squats, protests, street corners and festivals! I live in Cardiff, and have lived here for four years, Welsh is my first language, I wish I spoke more languages. I live with my awesome partner Crav and we love street art, dumpster diving, sharing things, partying, burner events, travelling on the cheap and sunshine. I'm currently working in a film & tv company making short films with young people and community groups. I love going out to watch live music and to dance lots in raves and festivals. I love hitch-hiking and jumping trains, generally going places for free, or living off the waste of capitalism! Haha! I also love zines and anarchist bookfairs, and swimming in the sea!!!!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting. Surfing. Meeting Up. Doing couch surfing / looking out for people without generally using the website! It's a state of mind, not just this website!!! SHAREEEE THINGS :D

When we're not couchsurfing whilst travelling we are usually free-camping or sleeping in bushes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have hosted people from Hungary, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Pakistan, Syria, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Chile, USA, China, Russia and more... It is great for travelling people to visit and tell you what their up to and inspire you to get your arse moving again!!! Also staying with locals is obviously much cooler than staying in a hotel.... Met a lot of amazing people through this!!!

I have surfed in Rabat, Valencia, Tarragona, Canet De Mar, Amsterdam, French coast and Ljubljana.

Have also made really good friends with people through CouchSurfing, it can be a really great tool!!!

Interests

Humous, Hitch-Hiking, Playing gigs and writing songs, making silly art, dumpster-diving, woofing, food not bombs, good music, surfing, swimming in the sea, hiking pretty places, partying with great people, street art, hot weather, squats, zines, yummy vegan cooking and sharing with lots of people, being on the road of course!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love lots of different music:: dub, punk, jungle, balkan, electro swing, indie with attitude, DnB, experiMENTAL, reggae, soul.... anything you can dance to, has loads of attitude or is just totally out there and ground breaking or lovely!!!

I like gritty films (like Shane Meadows) and foreign films and dark documentaries by people like John Pilger or Louis Theroux. Sometimes I also just like watching stupid funny films to forget about all the dark stuff - hahaha!!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-Travelling for months on end, alone.
-Snowdon in the dark to watch sunrise with best friends
-Hawaii, 3 months, trekking & wwoofing etc
-Nepal & India, 10 weeks, himalayas, teaching english, varanasi!
-3 years living in New Zealand, whale watching in Kaikoura!
- Snorkelling great barrier reef
-4 months hitching, sleeping rough in Europe with no money
-touring in a band and as a solo artist

I want to learn as much as I can, I can teach you how to make humous, speak some welsh, play some guitar, do some surfing...
