About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet diverse and creative people who are consistently at peace with themselves and with others!

ABOUT ME

I am obsessed with meeting people from all over the world! I believe that in order for a person to better understand their own culture, they MUST observe and appreciate other cultures that are different from their own. That means meeting, partying, and just laughing with people from wherever!
I am a vegetarian, bien sûr, just look at me! HA!
I am very laid back and mellow, and I think I have some neurological problem where I cannot take anything too seriously.

PHILOSOPHY

I think that it is completely pointless to be rude, negative, or have a sore attitude of any kind. People learn more and have more fun when they are generous and courteous of each other's emotions, so why waste your short yet precious life barricading yourself behind a wall of sour emotions? OK, that sounded pretty lame, I know, but I think you know where I am going with this. I hope.
I really enjoy people who make me think differently by sharing their experiences with me. I don't really see age when I look at a person, I concentrate more on personality. And yes, I am one of the people that uses the word "vibes."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I am still fairly new to all of this, but I love the idea and philosophy behind couchsurfing. I try to host when I can, but in a world full of CS skeptics, it certainly can prove to be a bit difficult. But that's what all these fine Philly meet ups are for. Coffee, anyone?

Interests

Film, nature, music, life. Laughing kicks ass.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love French cinema, I think it is pretty much the best film industry around. However, I do watch films from anywhere. Foreign films are kinda my thing. Caché, Almost Famous, Un Chien Andalou, and Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure, just to name a few!

I really love talent driven music with a lot of emotion. I like jam music, classic rock, and alternative. I listen to a lot of different stuff, I suppose. Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull are the favorites, but there's just so much more...
Lately I have just been reading "Learn French" type books because my French needs serious work! But I love comedic books as well, such as George Carlin's, and also the Definitive Book of Body Language. That's one damn informative book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 18, I was a lifeguard at a local waterpark. I once had to rescue a 5-year-old Japanese boy from a 10 foot deep pool. There is nothing more self-rewarding that knowing that you have just saved someone from danger who is so young that they don't even know how to thank you, let alone comprehend the seriousness of what has happened. It's really far out!
Then there is always drinking and partying in Montreal. I mean, hey, don't get me wrong here. Lifeguarding was cool. But have ya been to Montreal? Ok, whatever, don't judge me. That's not what this space is for. It doesn't say "Amazing Things to Judge Dan On!"
