Overview
About Me
I'm an undergraduate student in New Delhi, India, and have lived in many cities all over India. As a kid, I've loved travelling to places within and outside India with my parents, who kindled my love for travel. Now in college, I often travel solo or with my friends. I recently spent the summer in Europe exploring new things academically, culturally and gastronomically.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've never really liked the idea of staying in a hotel when visiting a new city (except the ones with beds you can jump on) . As a college student on a shoestring budget looking for authentic local experiences, Couchsurfing is the perfect match. I'm new here, but I have previously stayed with a Japanese family for a couple of nights in Fukuoka, and have fond memories of my time there. Looking forward to collecting some more, and hopefully hosting people in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books
My music tastes keep changing with time. I'm into bands like Maroon 5, Coldplay, Porcupine Tree (sigh), Metallica, RHCP, the Beatles. I occasionally enjoy Bollywood music, but that's becoming increasingly rare. Sometimes, I put on some jazz or indie when I'm working. Spotify has some amazing playlists.
Some of the movies I've seen and liked recently are The King's Speech, A Beautiful Mind, Forrest Gump, The Imitation Game, The Intouchables and American Beauty. Among Bollywood movies, I really like Queen, Delhi Belly and Gangs of Wasseypur.
I recently read and was amazed by the Selfish Gene by Dawkins. Some of my other favourite books are 1984, The Kingkiller Chronicles, Animal Farm, The Kite Runner and Norwegian Wood.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Marvelling at the geology of Nubra Valley whilst eating the best instant noodles ever half an hour after surviving a (small) avalanche. Followed by a night of camping under the stars with a view of snowcapped mountains and, would you imagine, a stretch of cool sand (and Bactrian camels!). I wish I could show you the photos.
