About Me

It's always hard to do these 'About Me' write ups. I mean you can't describe yourself in 500 words now can you? But to give you a brief introduction:

I studied accountancy at university. But I may not necessarily go down that career path.

I've also done the TEFL course and hope to teach English in Asia one day.

I just got back home from a twelve month backpacking trip. Loved every second of it and would return in a heart beat.

I wouldn't say travelling has necessarily changed the way I think. I think those that backpack and travel have a different approach to life anyway but it broadens our horizon and opens us up to so much more. Learning something new everyday and seeing things we hadn't even dreamt of.

Now that I'm back home, I'm trying to figure out what to do next..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's fun staying in hostels but sometimes you just need to stay with a local to discover hidden treasures of a city that you wouldn't find on TripAdvisor. Plus it's fun to meet locals that share similar interests to you.

Interests

Travelling would of course be at the top of the list. It's nice to visit different countries and learn about cultures around the world.

I recently got in to yoga, quite unexpectedly at the start of my trip, which has been an amazing experience.

I'm also hoping to learn new languages during my travels as it's an amazing opportunity to meet people from different countries and practise speaking the language. I'm currently learning Mandarin.

I also began learning how to play the piano at the start of my trip and hope to continue whenever I get a chance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Travel stories! I think the best thing about meeting hosts is that you can exchange stories about your previous travels but also talk about the lifestyle in the country you live in.

It's an amazing way of meeting new people that have similar interests to you and it would be a fun way of interacting with people that are hosting.
