COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience was way before the site existed in Leavenworth, WA...1981. It snowed 2.5 ft. in a few hours, everyone was getting stuck and pushing each other out, we had no place to stay and met a guy at a church who gave us his living room floor to sleep on...and fixed breakfast.

I've been a professional outdoor guide and instructor for 24 years, whitewater rafting, sea kayaking, x-c skiing, hiking, horseback riding. I also mountain bike and back country ski. After five whiplash injuries and misdiagnosed Lyme, I'm learning how to heal and do more of what I love again.

Getting off the plane in Point Hope, AK, at -28F.
Every time I paddled with Orcas in the 20 years I guided and outfitted kayak tours.
