ABOUT ME

Hey my name is Philipp and I am from germany. I was born in the deep west of germany in Kaiserslautern and finally moved all the way to east germany, next to Dresden. There I spent the most time of my life until I graduated from high school.

I've always loved to travel and seen a few places around the world. I am really interested in learning as much as possible about different cultures and people. It also helps me to understand the world much better. Since I am still young I try to gain as much experience in any kind of things as possible. I am really open minded and curious.

After I graduated from high school I didn't want to start studying right away and I always had the dream of spending an exchange year in the US during high school, but it didn't work out. So I decided to become an aupair (nanny) and to spend one year in Boston/Massachusetts before I go back to germany to study business. But I enjoy my life here so much and my hostfamily and I are so happy with each other, that i decided to extend my year for 6 more months.

I've been to the states for almost a year and experienced many great things and made tons of amazing friends.

Then I went back to Germany and started studying for a bachelors Degree in Business+Business Law which I just finished. Now I am going to pursue a masters Degree in Stockholm.

People describe me as a person who is enjoying life, happy almost all the time and always in a good mood. I enrich peoples life by being a good man and especially by being funny and sometimes just crazy.
Even though fun is really important to me, I am also very serious about things you have to be serious about and I enjoy having conversations about really serious topics. I am interested in a lot of things like economics, politics and history.

In my freetime I enjoy soooo many different things. I love to read and spent time in front of the computer, but I couldn't live without sports.

I am really social and active, that's why there are hundreds of activitys and sports i enjoy.
I think it's just about doing something you enjoy, having a good time, doing something for your soul and mind and also for your body.
But some of my favourite sports are Tennis, Soccer, Skiing and biking. I am also a huge fan of music, I used to play the keyboard and i was in the school choire.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust is the feeling to belive somebody even though you know you would lie in his stead.

You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy,the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America’s Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn’t want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named Bush, Dick, and Colin.

Since I don't have a couch right now I am actually participating by surfing.
But I can't wait to move into my own place to give back more to this amazing community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had quite some experiences (surfing, meetings, hosting) since 2009.

Interests

As I said before, I am really into sports. I prefer team sports, because you can have a lo of fun with a lot of people. My favourit sports are Tennis and Soccer, and in the states I also played waterpolo for a few months. In winter I love to go skiing and I used to snowboarded a few years ago.

I love to go out and clubbing, to play poker ( even though I haven't done it in a while) or just chill at the pool with a couple of beers.

I am interested in music, economics, politics and history as well as technology in any kind, the latest gadgets, good jokes and funny stories.

I like sight seeing and travelling, getting to know other cultures and gaining experience.

Back in germany I used to have a golden retriever , so I am also interested in animals.

I like to cook, but I also love to eat good food. And of course I also like nice drinks. A glas of whine can make one of these great conversations I love to have even better.

Last but not least, I am really interested in cars and motorcycles and everything that drives, flys, swims, or dives.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Mafia Movies and Movies that tell stories about great personalities. I love good comedys and sometimes I just enjoy a stupid one :D.
As I guy of course I have to love Action movies, but I prefer thrillers.

Reading has been a big passion, but lately i haven't had the time to read a lot. I try to avoid entering any bookstores, because I don't know what to buy first, then I panic, freak out and might faint. There are to many books in this world/store I want to read.
Thinking about the house I am gonna life in when I am old, I always imagine this huuuuuuge book shelf that occupys almost the whole first floor.

Since I am so open minded and I like so many different things, I also don't really have a favorit kind of music. There are songs in any kind of music that I like. My favorit band is Rise Against and I finally have the chance to see them in Boston. When I go out I like all kinds of electronic music. Recently I started to develop a passion for country music. People here think I am crazy when I tell them, but I just like special songs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-hiking from the valley to the glacier in austria during summer
-cross country skiing in the czech republik (crazy mountians up and down)
- cliff diving in Mallorca/Spain
