About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy the advantages of living in Vienna and finalize my thesis.

ABOUT ME

Like most of the people here on CS I'm convinced that travelling is a fine and important way to broaden one's horizon, through getting to know different forms of living, worldviews and values. Therefore when I travel to a country, where I don't know anybody yet, I enjoy the opportunity to get to know locals through CS .
In my ordinary life I study (German as a second and foreign language) and work (as a a German teacher for children) in Wien, Austrias capital. Both I enjoy a lot. Due to my work I have spent some time in Siberia (Russia) and Eastern Europe.
As a result I'm still trying to acquire the Russian language which is still hard. Comparing, learning and thinking about langugages is really interesting for me - I already tried Ukrainian, Czech, French, Japanese, Spanish, Mongol, Buryat, Russian and English. Unfortunately just the latter successfully ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling using CS is completely different - you get a good insight in the life of the locals, how the live and what they do, get tips, learn so much from each other!

Since trying it for the first time I find the most wonderful thing about CS is the feeling like you have your very own "guide" in a place that interacts with you and helps you in the foreign environment.

So, CS makes traveling easier and much more interesting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm semi-experienced concerning CS, but thus far I met extraordinary people through this project, e.g. in South Korea, Japan and Russia, which brought us to the conclusion, that travelling without CS is possible but less fun.
