About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Off to explore Spain, and then Prague in May 2008!

ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly positive type person, enjoy a lot of creative hobbies, and am very easy going. I appreciate people and love learning new things. I am a musician and artist and creativity and quirkiness are very comfortable to me.

PHILOSOPHY

People are good and brilliant, sometimes buried in muck, but inherently good. I believe I'm on earth to teach and guide young people and to help them uncover their brilliance. I want to learn and experience as much as I can and be out and moving and vital. I know my body won't be willing someday, so while I am young enough I want to see everything I can see. My dear friends are my closest family, and I want to stay close with them for a lifetime.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have done a lot of couchsurfing in the US by networking among friends. I spent a year and a half in my 20s working a travel job, and between assignments I would stay in various cities with friends-of-friends. I didn't have an apartment the entire year and a half! Longest stay at that time: one month. Average was 1-2 weeks. People asked me back again because I'm very clean and tidy, helpful, and fun!

Music, Movies, and Books

Samba drumming, Funny films, Gabriela Garcia Marquez, I read a lot of nonfiction books and books about home repair. I listen to nearly all kinds of music, but prefer things I can strum on guitar and sing to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiked to a mountain region in Thailand and stayed in a Karen tribe village at the home of the village elder. Slept with hogs under our floor, awakened to the pounding of rice at 4 a.m.
