About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore the world - both in my own travels and by taking in fellow travelers for a night or two and hearing stories of their adventures!
ABOUT ME
I've been a CouchSurfing member for several now, and have loved hosting people from all over the world in my home. It's been awhile since I've hosted anyone due to my current living situation and having limited space.
I grew up in Saskatchewan, but moved to Montreal, Quebec in August 2010 to work towards my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology. I stayed there until I finished my MA in the summer of 2012! Hurrah!
I moved back to Saskatchewan in late June 2012 and have since been working as a Registered Psychologist with a Counselling agency in Regina, doing both psychotherapy and psychological/cognitive/behavioural assessments.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I currently don't have space to accommodate overnight guests, but I would like to offer my time as a fellow couch surfer to meet up for coffee or drinks and/OR to have email communication (to answer questions, etc.) with visitors / new residents of Saskatchewan.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I have only played the role of *hostess* to couch surfers, but I will definitely play the role of surfer when I do some more traveling. During some of my past travels, I also used C-surfing to MEET people while traveling in Hawaii and Montreal. I love meeting new people from all walks of life, and even when I'm unable to host, I try to at least be available to show people around the city/province I live in!
I have had ONLY POSITIVE experiences with Couchsurfing. I have enjoyed many conversations with great minds from all over the world, and I love that I feel like I'm building this huge web of connections. This is an amazing community!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
*Arriving at the Burning Man festival in Nevada in the summer of 2012. I couldn't believe my eyes - all the amazing artwork and all the hard work and effort that went into constructing an entire temporary city for a week.
*Standing on top of Mount Haleakala on Maui, Hawaii. So high above the clouds - the view is breathtaking (see my main profile pic!)
*Meeting my nephew and niece for the first time. People always say "it's different when it's your own" --- and I discovered the meaning of this statement for the first time. I felt an instant bond with these tiny newborns. (they are now 5 and 8 and we're still good pals!) :)
Teach, Learn, Share
I have been known to occasionally teach music (singing, guitar, flute, etc.), though I still consider myself a student in all of these areas.
I am a certified yoga instructor, and have practiced for over 10 years now. However, I'm not currently teaching, and will admit that my own practice has been limited in the past couple of years due to some (non-yoga) injuries. Nevertheless, yoga remains a huge passion for me and really helps me to feel grounded. It is kind of a "moving meditation" that reminds me of my inner AND outer strength. I'm happy when I have the chance to share this practice with others!
