About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Breathe, sit, walk, laugh, smoke, drink, get lost, etc in as many cities as I can. Meet as many different people, with as many different points of view, as I can.

ABOUT ME

I'm extremelly leftist, a little absent-minded (sorry!), I have lots of energy and I'm usually up for anything. I like partying (drinking, etc) and absolutelly HAVE TO SMOKE. No problem to smoke in the window, though. If it's for a short period of time I can be extremelly easy-going.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe I, and anybody for that matter, ought to have fun and to be free to act as I wish. I can get along really well with anybody and with any personal philosophys, with the exception of narrow-minded people, and people who have too much dos and don'ts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I believe this is about experiences with travelling using this site. Never had none. I have crashed into couches of people I met online, though. Great experience: my trip to Conceição do Mato Dentro, MG, Brasil.

Interests

Cultures, night life, music, meeting people (any people), getting to know the reality of the city I'm in (or showing the reality of my city to travellers). Having fun, I guess. I don't enjoy the typical sight-seeing travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: a little classical, a little rock, a little reaggae, a little rap, a little jazz, a little blues, a lot of post rock, a LOT of samba and MPB (Brazilian Popular Music), and a lot of other stuff too. I'm pretty ecletic.
Books: I prefer theory and poetry over novels. Marx, Foucault, Deleuze, Jung, Illich, Debord, Fernando Pessoa, José Régio (I love portuguese poetry), Drummond (brazilian poetry), Graciliano Ramos, Guimarães Rosa (both Brazilian novelists), Faulkner, Elliot, and a lot of other stuff too.
Movies: a few favorites: Before Sunrise, Le Scaphandre et le Papillon, everything from the Cohen brothers.

Teach, Learn, Share

Share: the best thing I learned travelling is that, in order for you to really know a city, it's the mud that counts. Geting to know the people you usually ignore, the ugliest part of town, gives you much more of a real feeling of the city than sight-seeing. Getting lost rules, by the way.
Learn: I REALLY want to learn a decent spanish!
