Hi there! My name is Susan and I am a 23 year old from the United States. You can call me Susan, Suz, Sue, Suzie, Susana, or whatever else you can think of. I'm a passionate traveler and self-proclaimed foodie. I have visited nearly 30 countries. I'm fluent in English and speak conversational Spanish. I love to fully immerse myself in the culture of each country and usually do so by work exchange/volunteer work. I've worked at hostels in Spain, Malaysia, and Thailand; a surfcamp in Portugal; an eco project in Malaysia; and schools in Uganda, Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia. I enjoy outdoor activities (hiking, surfing, sports, etc.), cooking, good music, art, etc. I have a bachelors degree in Psychology and will return home to the USA to pursue a doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. I'm fun-loving and easy-going and always excited to meet new people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been traveling Southeast Asia for 8 months now and am taking a one month trip through Eastern Europe before I go home! I've never used couch surfing but I've heard positive stories from so many travelers so it's time I try it for myself! I'm hoping couchsurfing will provide me with unique opportunities to meet locals and get off the generic travelers' path.

I'm very interested in cultural exchange- big plus if you can teach me a couple words in your language ;) and if you're learning English or Spanish, I am happy to help! I love to cook (and eat!!) so I always try to learn about the cuisine in each country I visit. I'd also be happy to share some recipes and dishes with you that I've learned from home and on my travels.
