Overview
About Me
I live with my husband on a small farm in the country outside of Waterville, Maine. I work for L.L.Bean at home on my computer. I also lead a 4-H club and raise Nigerian Dwarf goats.
We have homeschooled our children through 8th grade, and 4 have continued on and graduated college, our youngest is a freshman at a Canadian University. I milk our goats and we compete at local fairs in the summer. We like to share beautiful farm others who may be interested.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My son introduced me to couchsurfing. It sounds great. I like people and am willing to stay with someone I don't know because most people are interesting and nice to meet.
I appreciate opportunities to travel and meet people.
Interests
I am interested in travel, running, hiking, gardening, making cheese and soap, showing goats, 4-H, musical theater, theater, reading, and music. And I like people. I enjoy our family most of all. Life is an adventure and sometimes a challenge. We believe it's important to share it with others.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like classical music and jazz as well as occasional oldies and show tunes. My favorite musical is Les Miserables (not the movie, the show). I enjoyed the book too. I like Casablanca and Gone with the Wind. I enjoy reading historical fiction mixed with occasional best-sellers.
I also now know I enjoy Renaissance music, particularly lute and vocals thanks to hosting a wandering minstrel.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran the Comrades Ultramarathon (90 km/56 mi.) in S. Africa while living there in the 1990s. But actually life is amazing every day. And I live it one day at a time. Amazing.
So now I see folks aren't limiting this response to one thing. Hands down most amazing is raising a family and being married for 38 years. A too-close encounter with an agitated African elephant while running in Zimbabwe, running across the tip of S. Africa (2x), and summiting Mt. Washington in February 2015 are on the list of amazing times for me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach: How to milk a goat; care for goats, how to kayak, how to start a 4-H club.
I can share: Hiking and running experience, our lovely fields and woods.
I can learn to appreciate a new friend.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share an interest in respect and care of our enironment and the people who inhabit this earth as well as interesting life experiences. I love to share laughter but this is only enjoyed naturally.
