About Me

I enjoy live music around town; I write for fun and therapy; I aspire to go to the gym on a regular basis. I am blessed with a supporting cast of friends and family. I'm a volunteer DJ on our community radio station. I am trying to get the hang of retirement, but went back to work on a very part-time basis because they give me a lot of latitude regarding when and how much I work and the "extra" money is nice. I like to travel though I'm far from being a pro. I've been to Ireland 5 times, Spain, and I have a daughter in British Columbia so I've been there a few times too. Currently (1/20) planning a 5 week trip to southern states.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend suggested it; he's hosted and had good experiences with those who visited. I like meeting new people and hearing their stories and experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Blues but appreciate most music if done well. Even rap.
My favorite movie of all time is Goodwill Hunting. Followed by Strictly Ballroom, The Princess Bride, Slumdog Millionaire, The Snowman. Enjoy many but neither violent nor Hallmark movies.
Books - I used to read constantly, but don't seem to have time now! My favorite book from childhood was A Wrinkle in Time. Recently read A Tale for the Time Being which to me is a grown up Wrinkle in Time. A Man Called Ove.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started living life 4 years ago

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm, while I love music I can only play the radio. I can: teach basic knitting; organize stuff; cook; bake; read aloud; give some tips on scrapbooking and making cards; listen; proofread and offer editing suggestions. And my daughter was recently surprised that I have skills when it comes to using Contac paper to cover paperback books, lol. I can mend and sew buttons. It seems I've made my way through life so far without any major definable skills...

What I Can Share with Hosts

See above. I generally bring dried cherries from this region to wherever I go. Glad to buy food and make a meal for you!
