About Me

Well hello there! I'm a recently graduated, 22 year old who is desperately trying to put off that full-time job for as long as possible. And thankfully, I received an opportunity to travel for a year to help me do that. So off I go! Hailing from Seattle, I'm hitting the road this winter to travel in South America and Africa. And boy am I stoked!

Besides traveling, I love spending time in my city. Whether I'm picnicking with friends by the lake, climbing a rock wall, swaying to some live bluegrass, hiking a nearby mountain or camping in a forest, Seattle is hard to beat. I studied public health here in Seattle and hope to get back to that (via grad school or a job) when I return from my travels.

I try my best to live well - which to me means having fun, laughing often, trying to learn from everyone I meet, and appreciating the time I've been given and filling that time with the people I love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to the CS community, but it seems like one of the best ways to meet locals and travelers and truly experience a place. I'll be taking off soon enough, so as of now, I'll be limited to asking to stay with you. But upon my return and finding of a humble abode, I promise to welcome all you couchsurfers to stay with me and return the favor!

Interests

I enjoy camping, hiking, climbing and floating my way through the outdoors. I love reading in cozy cafes around the world and chatting with friends over a pitcher of beer.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any and all Harry Potter books/movies, Night, Mighty Oaks, 180 Degrees South, Nickel Creek, How to be a Woman, Free Country, James Taylor, The Decemberists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The feeling of being so minuscule while kayaking next to a massive cruise ship among the giant sea cliffs in Milford Sound. You know the sea cliffs are impressive when the cruise ship looks small.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmm, teach... a little Swahili (emphasis on the little, I've forgotten a lot of it unfortunately), how to make the best chocolate chip cookies in the world, weird tidbits of knowledge about public health.

Teach me anything and everything, I'm all about learning. I'd really love to start learning an instrument and I love learning the history of where I'm traveling.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Chile, Indonesia, New Zealand, Panama, Peru, Senegal

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
