About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning how to be a west coaster again!

ABOUT ME

I love teaching and travelling. Not only do they go hand in hand because they begin with the letter t, but because I can teach and travel anywhere. I am hoping to teach abroad in a few years by starting in Vietnam.

PHILOSOPHY

Either I am too young or too fickle, therefore my philosophy is in the process of development. I guess joining CS, moving across country, and keeping myself educated is pushing towards: If you do what you always did you will get what you always got. So, it's time for some change...off to Portland, I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to offer a couch, but I currently do not have one. When I do, I will make sure to welcome those that need one.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am new to this therefore I have not surfed anyone's couch.

Interests

I am quite the "tomboy." I very much enjoy sports and the outdoors. I have a long board, but need a helmet before I continue to learn how to ride it. My sport of choice is the fast-paced game of lacrosse. I have played and coach lacrosse. When I am not coaching or teaching, I am either out and about somewhere outdoors or indoors crafting. I enjoy making my own or enjoy the works of others.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love it all...well, except for scary movies, books without pictures, dubstep, and songs with awful lyrics.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was taken aback by the boys at an orphanage in Haiti. The group that I was with brought brand new soccer gear- the whole nine yards, including uniforms for them. About half gathered around to patiently wait for the equipment as the others stayed with their books and homework. I was amazed that those group of boys had so much discipline. Any child I know would have dropped their books faster than you can say soccer. This experience before teaching gave inspiration to teach in other countries especially those where the children understand the importance of education.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I would want to give back to the CS community is teach you how to play lacrosse, speak basic Vietnamese, and how to have fun with phonics. No, I do not use Hooked on Phonics.

Countries I’ve Visited
