Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
embracing life in Denver and wherever else I find myself
ABOUT ME
I am a Colorado-native, lover of the world. You could say I'm one of the more grounded social butterflies you'll ever know. ;)
PHILOSOPHY
I work with refugees. It's a big part of who I am. From the travel I've been able to do, I have come to believe we are most powerful in the communities we understand the most (I very briefly spent time in Brazil trying to 'help the locals', and found myself revulsed by this form of neocolonalism). Thus, I find myself working with newly-arrived refugees in my hometown and feel very lucky to be helping them navigate their new home. Chances are, if you stay with me, we will find ourselves in a discussion about cultures of Bhutan, Burma, Iraq, or elsewhere...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Joined Couchsurfers in 2010, after a year of some transformative international travel experiences. I love the concept and want to be a part of it.
This year (2019), I anticipate some wonderful travel - and am looking to make friends and build connections with people from all over the world. Looking to stay with hosts who want to make another friend.
