About Me

Hello,

I was born and lived in Portugal until 2009. I was twenty five years old when I moved for the first time to another country where I lived for a few months.

Since I was young I spoke about traveling and seeing the world and once it happened it made sense to me that traveling is what I would be doing for a long time.

I guess, leaving somewhere else is what I needed to never stop again. Meeting other people and cultures made me grow as I never thought to be possible. Life became a school for me. I learn so many other things that it would not have been possible if I had finished my degree and just work in the same job for the rest of my life. I guess people make different choices in life and for the time being I can't settle right now.

Since 2009, I lived in Italy, Scotland, England and USA. I worked and volunteer in Social Work in this countries and I do not see myself stopping soon.

I think I found out about Couchsurfing in Italy I went to a Couchsurfung meeting and naturally this become part of my life. Getting to live other people life's, seeing their culture, day to day life and try new food its just an awesome thing that I am grateful to be doing.

I now know people all around the world which its great but also sad as I always end up leaving and it becomes hard to get back. One of the best things that happens is when I borrow my floor to someone or I meet them somewhere and then I get to visit them back in their home town or the other way around. People always host me as their family. It is so amazing how people are good and can give so much just for being who they are.

I do believe that people are good by nature and the universe and the energy around takes this goodness and spread it around. I am a very positive person that always can take the positive of every situation.

I hope to meet you out there and share some stories, walks, food, knowledge, culture.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting other people, cultures, ways of living and the Couchsurfing together with other sites its one of the best ways of doing it.

I hosted and been hosted my many people, through Couchsurfing and personal acquaintances and going to a country like this is the best way of understanding the culture and identifying myself with the people.

For me traveling is not the number of countries I visited, the monuments I saw. It is about the people I met.

I definitely do not see Couchsurfing has a place to find new relationships, it can be, maybe, if you are lucky, but it is not definitely my goal so I do not use it for that.

Interests

I love photography and I have used my travelings to do photograph as much as possible.

I enjoy hiking and being in nature and I prefer to now visit in be in the countryside then in big cities.

The big cities have the bonus that there is always something going on and I do love theater. It is amazing how people can perform and pretend in a way that takes me to the place and the story/play they are representing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have so many many books, movies and music I enjoy.

But as example of books I like: "The Tao of Pooh", "Veronika decides to die" and "Blindness"

With music I tend to like everything and always enjoy to know what people listen to.... I have so much music of all over the places I have been. This also makes me remind of the time there.

Movies I like ... "Sweet November". But I have not watch much movies or TV in general.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have lost my fear of snakes :)

I appreciate life and new experiences. I see everything as a new experience if I have never done it that way in that place and I have also been fighting my fears... Which makes me really happy. I am not afraid of snakes anymore (respect them though) and I am fighting my fear of heights.

Oh and I have participate in a Spartan Race ahaha - totally no expected and as part of a new experience. It was great though.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy speaking very much so visiting you would be great as I want to know everything about you, where you live and what you love.

I can share my experiences and I do enjoy cooking to. I can tell you what I love and how I see life.

Life is wonderful and the experiences and the people we meet, I met make me who I am today. Which I can only be grateful for it.
