About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Impact as many lives as I can, both feathered and human. Make friends, meet new people, grow and, like the big cliché I am - find myself.

ABOUT ME

I am the reflection of all the people who have come through my life.
I love meeting new people, I sing and teach singing. I tutored in a whole bunch of things, and worked in a couple veterinary clinics to get through college.
Currently finishing my Master's dissertation while working in a Wildlife Recovery Center.
I am self taught in many different subjects and am always looking for more people willing to share their experience and knowledge with me.

I love birds and birdwatching and will gladly bring anybody with me along on such a trip.
I have a lot of pets, so I expect anybody staying with me to respect them.

I'm hoping to meet new people and make friends, and show you around as much as I can.
Anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask away!

PHILOSOPHY

I don't really have one. I'm just trying to be happy, meet new people, understand other cultures and be a better citizen of the world! I am a perpetual work in progress.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It is a pleasure for me having couchsurfers over. I love showing people around, talking to them, sharing knowledge and experiences.
I just love meeting new people and sharing my world with them. :)

If you need and request it, I can and will pick you up from the airport or train station (or the place you are at, if it's within a reasonable distance).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My CS experience isn't as extensive as I'd like within the CS community, and I'd like to change that.
I was however, always very keen on picking up hitchhikers and letting them "surf" at my house for a few days.
The most amazing person I've met in this way was a Russian 16 year-old who crossed the border, hitchhiked all over the neighbouring countries, got in a cargo ship from Iceland to Morocco, then from Morocco to Spain, and whom I picked up in Salamanca when I was there on vacation and brought with me to Lisbon.
I have no way to contact him again, but I know in my heart we are still friends.

CS is about meeting new people, sharing experiences... sharing yourself. And it is wonderful.

That said, my proper CS experience is still an open page - won't you write something nice on it?

Interests

I love birds, books, music, Yoga, meeting new people and having conversations about anything. I'm not a complicated person to hang out with. I'm happy just finding a pretty quiet place and sitting listening to the waves, talking, getting to know people, sharing a smoke.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all sorts of music, but there' a special place in my heart for Regina Spektor and Indie Rock. I have studied lirical singing for many years and now I teach singing, as well as performing occasionally in bars and restaurants.

I love reading, and own an eternity of books. From Bukowski, Vonnegut and Palahniuk to Safran Foer and Kerouac, I will read anything I set eyes on!
Especially birds books or books about herbal medicine and folklore.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been lucky enough to have plenty of experiences in the area that I chose to work with: Wildlife Veterinary Medicine.
So, amazing things I've seen? Wild dolphins and whales swimming the same water as I, thousands of migrating birds flying over my head...
Working with other vets to capture and relocate Springbok gazelles from an illegal zoo, raising baby birds through days and nights of feeding and tending...
Witnessing life of all sorts, shapes and sizes, that's the most amazing thing I've seen and done in my lifetime.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about herbal medicine, how to make creams and soap and teas and all sorts of things! Also, I can teach you to identify birds by ear and sight and all about their habits! I have a lot to share and just need someone to share it with - singing, playing guitar, cooking delicious food, rolling a cross-joint and living life like every day is your last day on Mother Earth - to its fullest.
