About Me

CURRENT MISSION
I'm trying to find my way.

ABOUT ME
I have 62 years. I have 4 adult children. They all live on Cape Ann on the North Shore of Massachusetts, where they were born and have always lived. I moved from there to the Greater Portland Area because I was needing a change.I was a Floater Teacher in a HeadStart Program in Portland. And then COVID 19. I’m now back on Cape Ann in Lanesville. I can see, smell and hear the sea from my home.

PHILOSOPHY

I seek to enjoy the gifts that the world offers. Try to stop and smell the Roses and see the Beauty is that is all around in everyday things.I seek to share the gifts that I have been given. I have raised 4 wonderful people and they are now making their own ways in the world...and it is my turn to do that, as well. By participating in the couchsurfing experience, I feel that I am, indeed, helping to make the world a better place one couch at a time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted waaaaaay more than I have surfed.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first cs experiences was vicarious. My then 19 yo son, Stephen Michael had a 27 hour layover at Keflavik airport and through cs and then fb, I was able to hook up with some wonderful cs'ers(I <3 Reykjvik) who instructed Stephen Michael (via the webs and the mama) to take the bus into Reykjavik by which time we were connecting on fb. So while Stephen was sitting in the bus station messaging me at home how he was going to know Audur's boyfriend, he sees "the boyfriend"friend request, accepts and there's a picture of a guy and he looks up and there's the same guy ! So, Hrannar took Stephen to their home and fed him and then took him out and on a tour with the family. It was during July so he got to experience that midnight sunset. Then they took him home and tucked him into a real bed, (as the Princess was away) let him sleep for as long as he could before returning him to the bus station so he could get back to the airport. He and I were both so impressed with the warmth of these couhsurfers. I knew that I was home. Since then, I have couchsurfed in Iceland and England and I have hosted couchsurfers from Poland, Lithuania, Austria and France and Germany,Italy, Morocco,Vietnam, Thailand, and Maryland,Illinois and Massachusetts!(Italy, Morocco, and Vietnam were hosted simultaneously :).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy comedy more than drama these days. My Desert Island Movie Choice would be_The Lion in Winter_ the 1968 one. I love British Television (from Fawlty Towers to Shameless)I am fan and enjoy all kinds of music except nasty mean hateful stuff. I love Books. I recently re-read_The Winds of War_ and_ War and Remembrance_._ The Godfather_ by Mario Puzo. I read and enjoyed immensely _A Thread of Grace_ , _The Sparrow_ and _The Children of God_ by Mary Doria Russell. Just read _Five Days that Shook the World_ Excellent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Okay, if I have to choose just one, I guess that it would have to be an early morning flight from Paris to Firenze. I wasn't booked for the window but the person that was didn't squawk so I got to look out the window and I did take some awesome through the plane window pictures. It was unbelievably beautiful as we came over to the Italian side on our descent we could see the rooftops of the houses in the villages in the mountains.
