Sobre mí

Italian-Danish digital nomad, passionate about music, films, meaningful travel, festivals, design, big cities, and the great outdoors. I also work part-time as a film curator — currently programming and running the Climate Crisis Film Festival in London and Glasgow.

I call London home but in summer 2019 my partner and I packed up our lovely Peckham flat and started a new adventure: travelling full-time while working as freelance web designers! We had no savings or experience as freelancers but it's worked out great.

That's why we can't host Couchsurfers at the moment... we're on the move all the time and the current schedule looks more or less like this:
- Croatia (Aug 2019)
- Venice (Aug-Sep 2019)
- Valencia (Sep-Dec 2019)
- Tenerife (Dec 2019)
- NY (Dec-Jan 2020)
- Vancouver (Jan-Feb 2020)
- West Coast (Feb 2020)
- San Francisco (March 2020)
- Barcelona (March 2020)
- Georgia (April 2020)
- Israel (May 2020)
- Azerbaijan (June 2020)
- and beyond TBC!

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I love travelling solo; actually, I love travelling whether it's solo, with a friend, in a large group, on foot, by boat, by train, or by any other means! Especially when I travel solo, I always try to make friends with some locals. There's no better way to have an authentic and memorable experience than via Couchsurfing. I've been lucky enough to be hosted by some really awesome people in the past few years and couldn't recommend Couchsurfing enough!

Intereses

Nerd level: film, design, music and architecture
Live for: fooood and big cities
Hugely interested in: ideas (culture, politics, philosophy, climate change, society and everything in between)
Always up for: sailing, hiking, kayaking, playing with a dog, getting lost in cities
Hate: mornings, cars, shopping, suburbia

Música, películas y libros

I'm a major film buff, with a soft spot for European cinema (yep, slow and subtitled are great selling points for me!). Best film of the 21st century? The Tribe, from Ukraine. That said, I'm no snob at all and still get excited about blockbusters, demented comedies and B-movies when I'm the right mood.

Music: I'm really into music and have a quite eclectic taste. In my opinion, South London has the best scene and sound in the world right now (a mix of jazz, hip hop, and electronic). The music genre that I couldn't do without is electronic music — especially techno, drum and bass, and ambient. I also love indie, shoegaze, punk, new wave, classical, jazz, and hip hop. The only genres that make me run out of a room are reggaeton, EDM and latin pop — that stuff is savage.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Leaving a comfortable life, a good job, a gorgeous flat and lots of close friends in a city I adore (London) to try out all the things that I didn't know if I would be any good at! When my partner and I decided to leave our (very fulfilling) lives in London, we didn't know if we'd like being on the road 24/7, if we could make any money as freelancers, or if this was sustainable in the slightest for a whole year. We just liked the idea of trying out different lifestyles in different places and didn't worry too much about the practicalities, but all our friends and family thought we were deluded. Well, what can I say: best decision we could have made!

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

Conversations with someone who's actually super interested in learning about other people, lifestyles and viewpoints. I love chatting over a coffee / drink, sharing stories from life as a digital nomad, as well as having "serious" conversations about literally anything — there's no risk of offending me or making me feel awkward; all topics and opinions genuinely interest me.

I'm always up for sharing tips and info on places I've been to or on my field of work — i.e. freelancing, web design, branding, and film. I would open a blog about my lifestyle if it wasn't for the fact that I hate writing! Lots of people seem to think that travelling while working at the same time is an unrealistic dream that only people with money and support can achieve; I actually believe that, with a little curiosity and dedication, anyone can retrain to do a rewarding job nowadays — there are so many free and accessible tools out there that were unimaginable just 10 years ago.

I've also been doing lots of House Sitting and Pet Sitting recently, so if you need a reliable and enthusiastic animal lover to look after your cat or dog, I'm 100% up for it!
