About Me
Hello :)
I have just graduated after doing a degree in English Literature and French in the UK and I am currently in Bonn, Germany, doing an internship until December! I love to learn new languages, meet new people, discover new countries and cultures and dance.
My biggest solo travel adventures so far... I spent a year working and living in Senegal (www.susannahousesenegal.weebly.com) at the age of 18. I learnt so much whilst there and this experience has really affected the way I want to travel, as it was the people and friends I met there that made it such an amazing year. I also spent the summer 2015 volunteering in an artistic/social space/ riad in Marrakech (Priscilla Queen of the Medina). Again, I had a great time and met some fab people. I also started a personal blog which I still use for my travels: www.inthesameworld.weebly.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I love to meet people and to truly discover a country and it's culture, you need to meet the people that live there, so this is what I love doing :)
Unfortunately I am not in a position where I can host people, but would love to do so in the future.
Interests
I love dancing, going on walks, meeting new people, blogging, photography, speaking different languages and learning in general...
I did Capoeira for 1-2 years (which is a Brazilian Martial Art mixed with acrobatics, dance, instruments and more) and have also done a lot of African and Caribbean dances (mostly modern). I was part of a South African Gumboot dance group in Senegal, and in Marseille for my ERASMUS year I took part in a Coupé Décalé class. So, as you can see, I love dancing, especially if theres a cultural element to it. I have also just recently started learning Kizomba, which I really love!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music, and depends on my mood. If I need energy/want to dance, I listen to Afrobeat, soca etc, but if I want to relax, I listen to Jazz, and other genres. Films, I love action and also films that are very intelligent (like Inception) or inspiring. I love most books!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent a year as an 18 year old teaching English and IT in Senegal. I was working in a community centre, and for two months of the year I was there, I was managing the centre by myself. It was hard work but very rewarding, and I learnt so much about Senegal; I even learnt Wolof! My blog for my year: www.susannahousesenegal.weebly.com
