Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It started off with my older sister offering our couch/bamboo mat up to other travelers and by association, since we lived together, I was brought into this crazy CS world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Pleasantly surprising! Each person we have hosted or even just met up for a couple of hours has had something to offer. Whether it was sharing their traveling stories, funny childhood memories, life advice, food recipes, religious and political views, cultural differences – you name it!
Interests
Cooking, especially baking! Lately I’ve been obsessed with baking chocolate chip cookies with all organic/natural ingredients from scratch. It's not easy trying to make the perfect cookie - soft in the middle but fully cooked, yet crunchy on the outside with at least one white and dark chocolate morsel per bite!
Jogging/walking/biking/working out – pretty much anything that involves discipline and some effort. With the help of others, I transformed an old Schwinn bike to one of the coolest rides in H-town with a sea foam green frame, white brake linings and purple handles and chain! Share the road and look twice for bicyclists!
I have co-ownership of one of the cutest (I can admit when another dog is cuter) long-haired Chihuahuas that knows how to sit, eat, shake, high-five and howl on command, appropriately named “Wolfie.”
Fashion. But isn’t that on every girl’s list?
Reading. Sewing. Artsy stuff. Museums. Music. Dried mangoes. In no particular order!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm open to watching any movie that gets at least an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes.
I listen to everything from Country to Indie/Folk-Rock/Americano, whatever you want to call it.
I usually read books that are recommended by friends who have credibility or it just happens to be lying around the apartment. Currently reading Survival in Auschwitz.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Took a local, crowded bus up a curvy mountain with no side rails on a skinny road with a speedy driver all the way to the top to see the beautiful, breath-taking Ha Giang in northern Vietnam.
Does carrying a handmade Garifuna drum for 2 weeks from Dangriga, Belize all throughout Central America back to the United States count? Ahh the curse of dating a drummer…
