About Me

Pausing hosting for a few weeks as I'm travelling too. Good luck with finding hosts and people to meet up. Have fun.

My name is Susanne and I would love to see all places in the world from the smallest village to the biggest city; lakes, seas, oceans and rivers; mountains and deserts. I am curious and terribly optimistic - always, in every situation, I try to find the bright side of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet people. However, I am facing the issue of having little free time.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite bands are Arctic Monkeys, Placebo and Foo Fighters. In general, I like Rock and Indie music.
I do not watch a lot of TV or go to the movies very often, but I have a few favorites such as Matrix because it makes you think and view the world with different eyes. I love Despicable Me 1 & 2, the minions make me laugh a lot! In addition, I like romantic movies e.g. 27 dresses.
When it comes to reading, I prefer criminal stories: Stieg Larssen's Millennium books, the Harry-Hole-Series by Jo Nesbo, right now I am reading books from Jussi Adler-Olsen. Besides I like books that extend my knowledge with useful and useless information :- )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I participated in a charity car rally with my 20-year-old Subaru bus. While fundraising money for South African orphans, I drove with three strangers from London, UK to Ulanbator, Mongolia. During the trip, the three strangers became my friends and in addition we met wonderful people on the way. In total we passed 21 countries and travelled 16.000 km / 10.000 miles. The good old bus broke down several times which challenged our creativity when we got stranded in very remote places. Well, I do not only learn how to fix mechanical things; furthermore I learned for life and am grateful for the amazing experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

By travelling to foreign countries where I do not speak the local language, I improve my communication via drawings and international sign language :- )
I am not sure if I can teach anyone in anything, but maybe we can hang around and share good things we see.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook 4 dishes and have a few funny travel stories to share and love to listen to your stories and views on life.
