Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to this website, but have travelled a bit when I was a student - and was very grateful for all the nice people I met, especially when travelling on my own around Australia: I started of staying with some friends of a friend in Perth and ended up staying with yet again friends of friends in Cairns. This is nearly 30 years ago, but I remember how great it was to be welcome into someone's home, we would cook together, eat together, go shopping together - I even went along to play golf! And now I would like to be able to give some of this hospitality back to young (and maybe not quite so young!) people, by giving them a place where they can feel at home and show them the place we chose to live in. I hope that those who come here will fall as much in love with the place as we did..... and in a way, hosting people is like inviting the world into our small village here. We might live in the middle of nowhere, but there is always a bed to sleep in, food and drink on the table and time to chat and laugh together.

Interests

Mountains, open spaces, silence and watching things grow. Which is one of the reasons why we now live in the middle of nowhere. Trying to help and protect the beauty of a places like this is therefore only logical: we've both been engaged for quite a long time in a local group to protect the natural heritage of the Priorat (plataforma del Priorat: http://plataformapriorat.wordpress.com/)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first time I saw the Serra de Montsant, coming over the Coll D'Alforja. It's a place full of magic.
And when our two children were born. Also magic.
