I'm a Taiwan-born, US-raised, Canada and UK-educated human being.
I love hearing people's life stories, learning about their aspirations, passions, and opinions. I love long, late-night conversations, discovering hidden gems in new cities, and forming genuine connections with people. People mostly know me for my great love for food, and I love cooking for people and learning about other food in other cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I unfortunately never got to use couch surfing, but I love meeting fellow travelers so I'm hoping to at least meet some CSers from the area so that we can share our travel stories - and probably some yummy treats, coffees, and drinks while we're at it!

Interests

*Diseases: particularly the social determinants of certain diseases - I know, this may sound strange or nerdy, but I did study public health after all!
*Food politics: How food is grown, produced, and marketed; the environmental and health impacts; food poverty and food justice
*Medieval and ancient history: I'm terrible at remembering historical facts, but I love learning it nevertheless
*Foreign languages: I would love to improve my Mandarin and French and would like to learn Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, etc...
*Cooking/food: I love creating and experimenting in the kitchen. I am also very very adventurous and love trying local dishes!!
*Music: I play a couple of instruments and enjoy singing. I'm always up for a jam session!
*Animals: I'm a huge dog lover but love all animals. In my previous life I was an animal biology student. ;)
