About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To feed my insatiable thirst for new experiences

ABOUT ME

I was brought up to be interested in everything, to seek knowledge and new experiences, and to never say no unless I had first tried something. As a result I crave travel and meetings with new and different people. I am open-minded and love to learn.

PHILOSOPHY

Live like you would live your life over and over again eternally.

I

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have had great couchsurfing experiences in Boston, NY, and Greece. But I have yet to have someone stay with me. I just moved back to the Chicago area, so maybe now!

Interests

Everything, really! But, I especially love eating spicy, ethnic food from a variety of places; being outside doing anything; reading, western and eastern philosophy; chaos theory; music of all kinds; ballet; theater; beer -- love finding new, good beers; movies of all kinds; adventure; good conversation!

Music, Movies, and Books

to name a few...To Kill A Mockingbird; Stilllife With Woodpecker; Slaughterhouse Five; The Alchemist; The Philosopher's Apprentice; A Prayer for Owen Meaney; The Great Gatsby; everything Salinger wrote; Cinema Paradiso; Patton; Lawrence of Arabia; Reality Bites; The Neverending Story; The Royal Tenenbaums; The Big Lebowski; Lawn Dogs; everything Clint Eastwood takes part in

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kissed a dolphin; had my whole body weight held up by the wind in Glendalough, Ireland; hung out with circus performers in a bar in Port Arlington, Ireland, where the bartender let me behind the bar to pour drinks for everyone; saw an opera in Vienna for only $.50!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my experiences, love, and knowledge of literature, especially Irish and American; I can teach you soccer or tennis, or rudimentary philosophy. I am a pretty good cook, but don't use recipes really. I'm a purple belt in karate, working on moving up to black belt; I love to learn everything!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Ireland, United States
