About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Ensuring a just transition from coal to clean energy in the U.S.

ABOUT ME

I love to dance to music with a good beat. I was in China for three years, then a year in NYC, then a year in DC, now in Berkeley for 6 years! I want to help implement sustainable practices (especially interested in energy) worldwide. I currently work for the Beyond Coal campaign at Sierra Club.

PHILOSOPHY

在家不会迎宾客,出外方知少主人
If you don't welcome guests, you'll know few hosts when you travel. (a chinese phrase that symbolizes couchsurfing)

Be excellent to each other. - Bill

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a few, hosted a bunch, hope to help in growing the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed about 5 times, twice in Europe, a couple times in China. I've hosted over 40 people from various countries including: Canada, Russia, USA, Sweden, UK, Australia, Faroe Islands (Denmark), Spain, Israel, Poland, Korea. Once a fellow from Australia told me he was pursuing Antarctic Studies and I thought he was saying Antoctic Studies and I was like "I don't know what the f you're saying". Just goes to show there can be some communication difficulty even in English :) Oh also I surfed in Berkeley with Laura and Reuben in July 2011, then I moved here in October 2011, and now we're really good friends. They were such awesome hosts and made me want to move to Berkeley!!

Interests

Skiing, outdoors, music (piano drums and singing, all types of music, ask me to Eco-Rap for you), hackysack, sustainability, nanotechnology, energy, solar panels, monkeys (especially stuffed animal ones)
