About Me

I'm a New Yorker, lived in Minnesota for three years. I'm trying to find the community for me and "root" in it, could it be Denver?!

My current life goal is to figure out the essence of any community by gaining wisdom from community leaders, which can be used to empower community members in a larger scale (See passion project below).

I have heard great things about Colorado and would love to explore nature, and talk with local citizens. If you know or know someone else that I should reach out too, please send them my way.

Boring credentials:
I have masters of science in Agricultural Resource Economics from UC Berkeley. I have a social science background and interests range from economics, behavioral science, education, philosophy, and communication/empathy. I am also an SQL/R programmer and former Education Data Analyst from a large Minnesotan school district.

Passion Project:
I plan on creating a volunteer management database that can scale into a community network. The transformative vision is to define the role, expectations, and growth opportunities available to volunteers. Volunteers will be involved in their respective cause and improve/impact the community at same time. There will be a community data dashboard providing volunteer opportunities for citizens  and enable local charities/municipalities to better serve and empower their communities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am interested in the sharing community. I have plenty to offer and would love to connect with people whom have a big heart!

Interests

How do we build a society built on trust, relationship building, and self-empowering others?

I do amateur photography, and the goal is to highlight the beauty of everyday life and local community. Please check out my blog if interested: https://www.instagram.com/sustainabu/

Also I am a systems thinker, anarchist, and theorist. I have supposedly derived an alternative social-economic that will flip capitalism upside down.

FINAL NOTE: I believe that marijuana is a medicine and can be used to achieve radical empathy and one of my life missions is to remove professional stigma associated with it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Music is life and my form of therapy. I used to be a music junkie (amateur DJ for a bit); I favor jazzy, soundtrack, and house music.

Movies: Mad Max- Fury Road, The Room (parody movie), Babadook, Zoolander, Donnie Darko,

Books: Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice, Into the Wild,
I am recently reading Harry Potter

I praise the comedian Demetri Martin, George Carlin, and Key & Peele

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm a LOCAL homemade superhero, The Frogtown Crusader.

It was originally meant to be just for fun, but it turn out to be something more special. Many minority kids looked up to me, hugged me, and gave the widest smile. =)

This can be a solution to address community policing, while having fun!

Teach, Learn, Share

My technical skills include being a programmer, and IT knowledge. I did teach introductory Economics at the university for brief time. My most valuable talent is getting people to challenge themselves and connect more intimately in the form of social games.

My latest wisdom is the importance of adventure in building relationships and self-esteem. My latest latest adventure was venturing into the Minnesota blizzard to do a photoshoot. My last grand adventure was getting lost in Seattle, Washington.

It's not the destination, but the journey that matters!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have a plethora of experience/knowledge and I don't know where to start with. I adapt to the person that I am talking with.

I spent nearly half my life trying to make a world a better place. Although, I have yet to root into the community, there is still so much to learn.

Countries I’ve Visited
