About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Be happy and see new places. Meet interesting people.

ABOUT ME

Energetic, happy, eager to try new things, independent, flexible, detail oriented. I much prefer being in a town rather than in a large city.

PHILOSOPHY

I love to travel and am thrilled that I instilled that passion into my daughter who has far surpassed me in her travels. She had been to 21 countries by the time she turned 21 this past fall. I hope to leave the world a slightly better place through my actions. I just completed a CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) class and will be helping establish a warming center to house and feed homeless people in the community when the temperature drops below freezing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Mostly my experience has involved helping my daughter find hosts when she was travelling in Europe this past summer. She had some wonderful experiences meeting people through CSing. I personally have not surfed yet because my recent travels have been in the Pacific NW in my van with my 2 dogs. I have offered to host a few people, but because I live 20 miles outside of Eugene in the country my house isn't convenient for most surfers.

Interests

Hiking, listening to folk music, travelling, spending time outdoors, spending time with my daughter

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folk music. I used to play the guitar before my thumb developed some health issues. My favorite books are Bridges of Madison County and Into The Wild

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did CPR on a woman at a garage sale and she lived. I visited her in the hospital that night. I delivered a baby in the front seat of a car. I didn't have a watch with me so guessed at the time. What if that person has her charts read someday and the time wasn't exact!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to make deserts and some main courses that I'd be happy to share, and I'd love to learn some of your favorite recipes. I especially would like to share a hike or a walk on the beach or a snorkelling outing with you.

Countries I’ve Visited

Botswana, Canada, Ecuador, Fiji, Japan, Kenya, Mexico, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In
