ABOUT ME
I'm Dutch, I love running, hiking, rowing, reading, visiting museums, exploring new destinations and hanging out with friends and/or other nice and random people.
I have a specific interest in marine biology especially octopuses and jellyfish.
My favourite quotes:
'I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake. The great affair is to move.' (Robert Louis Stevenson)
'Anything we fully do is an alone journey.' (Nathalie Goldberg)
'If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.' (Oscar Wilde)
and I always try to remember: The only thing I know for sure is that I don't really know anything at all.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS restores my faith in humanity.
I've hosted quite a few people throughout the years and I have had some very positive CS experiences in Jerusalem, Namur (Belgium) and Hamburg (Germany).
Looking forward to adding more!

Music, Movies, and Books
I mainly read non-fiction on topics such as current affairs ecology, popular science etc., and occasionally some literature for my book club. Currently reading
I mostly listen to indie music and like to watch arthouse movies, although I also enjoy a Western or James Bond movie every now and then.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I love the thought of getting off a plane without any knowledge of the country, and figuring out on my own how to get around. The feeling you get from experiencing this is not comparable to anything else in the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
Always go with your gut feeling.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I enjoy learning about other cultures and languages. I always try to learn at least a 20 words in the language of the country I'm staying in. I can teach others about Dutch politics, art, architecture and the Dutch language.
