I am at a point in my life when my partner and I have a little more time for adventures. We both work and each have two children but want to do a little more travelling. We're still working full-time and so our adventures are more short term. We're happy, positive, fun people who like to meet different people. We are into good food, wine and beer (local brewers), mountains, beaches, alpine skiing, great vistas, history, camping, architecture, sunsets, farmer's markets, gardens, music, geneaology, local shops, walking, hiking, laughing. I am a high school teacher (English as a second language) and my partner is the office manager for a company that sells natural health products directly to doctors. We're both clean, respectful, polite and a lot of fun!

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

We are new to couchsurfing and hoping that it's as amazing as it sounds. We much prefer to hang out with the local population and would love to experience, while travelling, the local spots that are usually hidden.

As a host, our home is not huge but it's comfortable and contains 3 teens (16, 17 and 20) and a cat. We also foster other cats short-term and so if you're allergic we are not the best place for you.

My partner's brother is on couchsurfing and has only had positive experiences as both a surfer and a host and so hope to experience the same.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I listen to everything: jazz, classical, tango, hip-hop, blues, 80s, rock, metal, 70s disco (yup!), house, latin... A new favourite band for me is the Dead South. Worth a listen! My partner's favourite music is electro. My favourite books are mostly chosen from the classics, fantasy and crime/detective styles although I do read a lot of different stuff. I love Jane Austen, P.D. James, Tolstoy and Agatha Christie and many others. Barry's not a big reader. One of my favourite movies is Pride and Prejudice. Love the verbal sparring! Also into the Marvel Comics movies. I go with my two sons (16 and 20). They're way too much fun! Barry's new, favourite movie is Hostiles and one of his favourites is Forrest Gump. We both like to watch scary movies with our kids. A good scream cures all!

I've been on an archaeological dig in Antigua. Dug up a 1,000 year old skeleton and counted thousands of fish bones!
