About Me

I'm a 25 years old Dutch communication student living in Zeist, near the beautiful city Utrecht. I like being active and doing new things, but I can also enjoy a day on the couch with some good movies and a nice conversation. One of my favorite hobbies is traveling, also between the boarders of the Netherlands. Taking a walk in the nature somewhere in the world and stroll around an unknown city make me really happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Surprise, surprise: since some years I'm very much up to exploring the world and meeting new people. Locals always know better than travel books and its a great way to get new views and opinions.

Interests

Traveling, tea, drinking wine with friends, spending time in the sun at the beach (the two weeks a year the sun shines in the Netherlands), watching all kinds of series, sports in general, shopping, walking the dog at my parents place and lately I'm trying to improve my cooking skills.

I'm also very interested in biology. Especially how body and mind work together and what you're body is capable of doing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to listen to singer-songwriters and (soft-)rock (such as David Grey, Paolo Nutini, Hozier, Bastille, Ron Pope, Dido, Ewert and the Two Dragons and many many more) at home or at a music festival. I also appreciate oldies and Disney songs, especially when you can sing-a-long during SingStar.

Reading doesn't really happen since reading a book takes to much time when you compare it to watching a movie and I'm not patient enough. The movies I watch are usually mystery, fantasy, action or detective. But secretly I have to admit that a chick-flick once a while is also amazing and that horror is too terrifying..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

During my studies I've been abroad to the beautiful country Estonia. Noting is going on there, during a trip you only see trees and when you're lucky a wild animal, the capital is still small and cute, the weather is even worse than in the Netherlands, but it was definitely the best choice I've made this far! I can recommend everyone to study abroad for meeting the most interesting persons, to make new friends, broaden your opinion and see some more of the world.
