About Me

CURRENT MISSION

photograph weddings in every state of India, explore, see, taste, smell and enjoy.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 28 year old photographer from Holland. Having travelled a lot, volunteered, I considered myself quite a lucky person, yet I kept falling back into the same patterns. Feeling suffocated, I really felt the need to break free, and I took the move to India. Right now, I'm planning not to return to my home country for the next five to ten years. I just want to meet, make friends, enjoy, learn, play, and document.

PHILOSOPHY

"Vakt aa gaya hai" has been tattoo'ed on my back. Meaning such as ' time has come'. there's no tomorrow, there's only today. Since I can get a little spaced out, I need to keep myself reminding. It's only today.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Not much when it comes to this website. But had my share of unexpected couch surfing. Meeting new people on the streets and getting invited into their houses, be it in Istanbul, New Delhi or Nairobi.. Very greatful for each experience!

Music, Movies, and Books

This box won't do. Let's leave something to talk about no? Ok, one for each:

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming with wild dolphins on Keri Beach, visiting remote tribes in south Ethiopia, speaking Swahili with oldies in Kisumu Kenya, celebrating christmas on Goan beaches, running amongst thousands of Naga Baba's for Maha Kumbh Mela's main Sangam dip, watching dead bodies burn in Varanasi ghats, driving cars between burkha women in Kashmir listening to Stromae's Alors dance, and sleeping outside in Delhi gurudwara with an Indian man who turned out to become my travel mate for six months and still going strong.. but most of all, the most amazing things were in small talks and all the warm and wonderful people I met.

Teach, Learn, Share

practically: how to use the manual part of your slr camera ;-)
otherwise: I've seen a lot in this world and had my share of learning. But still wanna know what's going on in other peoples' hearts and minds. Openness.
