About Me

CURRENT MISSION

get out and see what there is to see!

ABOUT ME

I am an actor/director/producer/theatre administrator interested in just about everything! My underghrad degree is in ACting with a minor in English Lit. My day job is that of Associate Artistic Producer at a smallish theatre (Winnipeg Jewish Theatre--I am not Jewish so it's neat to be a part of a community I otherwise wouldn't be).

As I'm still relativley fresh out of school I'm still working my way into the theatre comunnity in Winnipeg and whenever cool projects pop up I work as an independent actor and a director. My goal eventually is to make my living in the theatre without having to do admin/marketing/producing (which is interesting for a time but not what I love).

I am considering going back school in the next few years (possibly in the UK or Europe) for a masters degree in Theatre (not sure yet whether it will be in Acting or Directing).

In free time I love being outdoors and have been lucky enough to fall in love with an amazing outdoors/adventure loving guy whose family has a beautiful 100 year old cottage in Northern Ontario (Minaki area). This means that every chance we get in the summer months we're out there enjoying the beauty of the Canadian Shield, some great food and fabulous company!

Which brings me to my other favourite things--good food and good company! There are few things I like more than making a great meal and enjoying it with friends! Almost all of my friends and family are foodies so it's all about dinner parties, and tea, and my new favourite: breakfast parties! I recently discovered the joy of love throwing a party in the evening that goes late into the night and then re-convening midday the next day for a red-eye breakfast party!

I'm looking forward to cooking with and for my hosts this summer and enjoying some good laughs while we're at it!

I love things that are old and built with care to last. I grew up in small towns and the country and so even though I now live in the city I always like to get away to less full places where people aren't so good at drowning out the rest of the world.

Ducks are an endless source of delight for me. As are dachshunds and frankly, most other animals. Except moths--not a fan of moths.

PHILOSOPHY

"God is interested in stories, that's why s/he made people."

"There are more things in heaven and earth... than are dreamt of in your philosophy"

That is to say be amazed--the world is awesome!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm hoping to meet a ton of people during my 3 month trek this summer and then once I'm home safe and sound in Winnipeg do some hosting in my new place!

I've been telling everyone about how I paln to couch surf and I can't wait to report back about all the great people I met!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to this but the reports I've gotten from people who've done it have been great so I'm really looking forward to getting out and seeing for myself!

Interests

All kinds of art, music, food, good conversation, the outdoors--the beauty and whimsy of the earth, interesting people, stories well told. Mythology, cosmology, theology...pretty much any "ology" (except maybe technology--I'm not much of a techie).

Teach, Learn, Share

Check out WWOOFing as well--something else I'm thrilled to be trying for the first time this summer!

If you're thinking of coming to Winnipeg I recommend July--both the Folk fest and the Fringe Fest happen in then and both are great chance to see amazing shows and meet interesting people from around the world!
