Overview
About Me
I recently graduated from studying French and Spanish in the UK and right now I'm teaching English and enjoying life by the sea in Murcia.
In my free time I love to dance (ballet, contemporary), read, cook, explore/mix new music, make videos, go to concerts, and watch films:-)
I'm a pretty relaxed person and love meeting people from different walks of life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to see/experience places through a local's perspective! Studying abroad in Mexico City opened my eyes to the importance of intercultural exchange and my eurocentric upbringing. Living in a place that was totally different to where I grew up provided a lot of life lessons and since then meeting new people and exploring new places has become even more valuable to me.
I find I always take away something special/interesting from meeting new folk, and CS is the perfect platform to do this!

Music, Movies, and Books
films - French cinema, like a good independent/arthouse film, documentaries, anything with/by Greta Gerwig!
books - The Secret History, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, The Bell Jar, Wild Swans. I've lost motivation for reading the past few years but I'm getting back into it. More recently I've been enjoying short stories by Lucia Berlin and Valeria Luiselli
Music - I mostly listen to 90s hip hop, neosoul, R+B, disco, any good tunes for boogying:) recently I've been getting into Bossa nova and Brazilian music and listening to more Latin American artists since living in Mexico. If you have any good recommendations I would love to hear them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Almost fell down a ravine whilst hiking in Mexico
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach me your mother tongue! I speak French and Spanish and love chatting with native speakers. My love of Brazilian music has also inspired me to learn Portuguese (which hasn't materialised yet but I'd be keen if you know any).
I love cooking and sharing (read: eating) food. Learning about the food culture of a place is really important to me and sharing food with other people is always an enriching experience:)
I can dj and love to share/discover new music. I can play the piano too and enjoy singing (in the shower mostly)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am renowned for my chocolate brownies
I can also cook you up a good ratatouille and teach you the Napoleon Dynamite dance haha
I enjoy chatting about life and trying to understand the world from different perspectives. I hope I can offer you a new perspective too!
