About Me

HI! I'm here to share with like minded people. I love to travel, have used Airbnb mostly in Europe. After hosting for impro friends during the Adelaide Fringe Festival, I joined CS.
I'm happy, spirited, and love to explore stories, I write poetry and prose. My other fav is performing, directing or workshopping 'improv theatre', in Australia its just impro! My experiences have been to represent SA in 2013 at Improvention, a huge international festival we have here in July each year. London was amazing, learning other techniques and formats.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, why not! I want to travel again, and my previous trips have been solo. I have met 2 people, by complete coincidence , who are improv people and CS people too!

Interests

I have a character called Maureen, who does stand up comedy. This is her... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aH1QewTLayA She has performed at The Edinburgh Fringe.
I've travelled and performed in Canberra a number of times, and Melbourne. I also enjoy Contact Improv.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being with my identical sister, Anya, though our whole life, and watching her leave this one. Particularly sharing her last weeks before passing away from cancer, a week before our birthday when we were 36. I have had no greater joy, conversations ( yes we had our own lingo) friendship, fun, love, experience, beauty than being Anya's twin sister. Her cancer was terminal, she said she just wanted to stay at our home, and we both knew 'it was time'. I'll never forget that last night, we didn't sleep. Those cups of tea, holding her that last night, laughing with her, and eventually, to let her 'go from here', we were together. I had to ask her, to let her last breath go, to go to heaven. She let a last sigh go, and looked like sleeping beauty. Something in me, an instinct, told me to leave her, that she needed to be on her own, so I went and got a coffee. Then I had a feeling of 'you need to go back now'. I went to her room, and she was smiling. I've had many moments when I wished I could give her one more breath, but she is beautiful where she is. I'll never forget that smile.

Teach, Learn, Share

happy to share impro workshops, creative play stuff like fun!! Would love to hear Poetry Jams or Slams, and maybe join in. Share stories of course, and learn your own.
I love Contact Impro, to share a workshop or be involved would be wonderful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

happy to make a dam good lasagne (unless you're Italian, I wouldn't call it good, I'd just call it mine!) House work, and folding fitted sheets as an extra skill.

I believe we all have something to give and learn from each person we meet; we might not know what that is until it happens.
