About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I am on a kick to travel the world before I go back to finding a happier career path and settling down.
ABOUT ME
I come from a family of immigrants. My parents first came to the US in the 80s to escape the genocide in Cambodia and I was lucky enough to born here. I grew up working I our family's donut shops and worked my butt off to go to a school that was a little out of the reach of my super conservative parents in Los Angeles. I joined Teach for America right after graduating and have worked at schools in under served communities for the last 8 years as a seventh grade science teacher.
Over the course of the last couple of years I started feeling much less happy at work and needed to take a break. Hence, my joining CS and taking time to travel.
PHILOSOPHY
"...because I said I would."

I always keep my word and value those who do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I have been working as a teacher the last few years I clearly didn't receive as much compensation as I would have liked for the amount of work I put In, thus I am turning to couch surfing as a means to travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I don't yet have any experience, but hope to have some great stories to tell and memories to keep when I'm done :D
Interests
Being outside and enjoying the sunshine in various ways like taking strolls through neighborhoods, running, cycling and hiking.
I also exploring museums and experiencing a variety of food and drink of different regions. Over the last two years I have also really gotten into and enjoy salsa dancing when I can find a club.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all types of music from top 40 hits to electronic to even country. If I'm at a movie theater it's generally to see comedies (like 22 jump street), action (like the avengers) or chick flicks. The last books I read we're all young adult books so that I could share them with students (like Harry potter or divergent).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most beautiful thing I have seen in Spain so far is the Plaza de Espana in Sevilla - absolutely breathtaking. A close second is the view of San Sebastián from Monte Igueldo.
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and generally don't have a problem getting along. If you find me a salsa club I'd be willing to teach you some basic salsa and bachata moves :)
