About Me
ON THE ROAD...
Until recently (May 2016) my husband, Jeroen, and I enjoyed our life in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates were we lived for three years. Recently, we decided to go on a trip to Egypt, Russia, Mongolia and China and maybe more..
We like to travel slowly. Meet nice people. Have good conversations over dinner or a drink. Seeing a country through its people.
ABOUT ME
I am sitting in the living room. Got my suitcase, my little blue raincoat, my teddy bear. I am three years old, curious and looking for adventure. Preparing myself to travel, to see the world.
A lot of things changed since that time. The raincoat doesn't fit anymore, the teddy bear is missing. But although more that two decades have passed by since that moment, I am still, with a height of 1.54 m, a little girl, especially for Dutch standards. My passion to travel, to see the world, meet people and experience other cultures has grown and is still expanding!
In short: I am an enthusiastic, open-minded Dutchie looking for adventure and new experiences. Can you help me to expand my horizon and exchange culture, food and humor?
PHILOSOPHY
Always treat other people the way you want to be treated.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surved couches during various travels both by myself and together with my husband. When living abroad, I took part in various events and was an active member of the local community in Abu Dhabi.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I know cs since the summer of 2010. I was travelling Serbia and Bosnia, booked a bus to Banja Luca were I would arrive late in the evening. Suddenly I realised that I would not be able to find a hostel, but only expensive hotels. I made a profile and within four hours I was in contact with my first cs-host. He showed me around for two days and made me fall in love with couch surfing..
After this I surfed in Germany, Australia, the USA and Egypt. Jeroen and I hosted guests from Poland, Spain, Germany and Nanibia

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Two amazing road trips in South Australia: first some awsome camping and cage diving with great whites! Amazing creatures swimming right next to you.
Second a 1,5 week fwd trip to the South Australian Outback. Sleeping under the stars, making food in a campoven, party with local Aboriginals, enjoying a rodeo show, hitch hiking back south and sleeping on a farm in the middle of know-where on the way back.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We love hanging out, having good conversations, exploring local places together and making home cooked meals. We can also be independent and can entertain ourselves when host are busy.
