About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Love the world ♥

ABOUT ME

I'm a person full of curiosity. I like to meet new people, see new world through their eyes, and experience various things. My life was always full of adventures. Since I entered university, I was always busy with doing diverse things, and they broadened my worldview. If you meet me, you will feel passions and ambitions that drive me until now.

PHILOSOPHY

This world is wonderful, full of amazing people!
I try to be a good person, to meet nice people. When I become a better person, I can meet amazing person.

I want to be a meaningful person in this world and change this world in a positive way (even though it is small and not a dramatic change) That start from myself being a better person, and sharing positive feelings with people around me. When I can make my friends smile, and then I can make this world smile :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My friend taught about it.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Washington DC, 2 days
Montreal, 5 days
Quebec City, 3 days
Oka ON, 1 day
Kansas City, 1 day
St. Louis, 1 day
Chicago, 2 days

Every time I met really nice people and we got good friends. Sometimes they showed around places and told their life and how they love their cities. I feel meeting people while I am traveling doubles pleasures.

Interests

There are few things I put lots of time.

1) Piano : Playing piano is my favorite hobby. I have played classical musics since I was 6. Nowadays I spend more than 6 hours a week to practice it. I mostly play classical songs and few new age pieces, but I'd really love to learn jazz music! Music is nonverbal communication tools I think. It connects heart to heart without having to say a word. I love playing songs for my loving friends.

2) Volunteer work: When I am in my country Korea, I did volunteer work all the time about once a week. I love children and students. I have taught students English, Science, Geography and so on in Korea. Last year's winter, I have been Philippines and taught Korean culture and activity classes(science, art, music, and sports). Last summer's work was teaching Korean to Korean-Japanese students living in Kyoto. When I become a help to others, I feel I find the reason why I am born.

3) Working out (Especially swimming and jogging): Sweating makes me feel good. It relieves all my stress and enables me to forget things that I am worried about. When I my heart beats, I feel that I am alive.

4) Exploring new world : As I am a geographer, I go to many different places. I love visiting new places. Each places has its unique characteristics and bear the history that residents has made. New places around my hometown, or traveling far away inspires me.

Music, Movies, and Books

*Music: Classical music. Especially Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, and Mendelssohn. Smooth Jazz especially Bossa Nova

*Movie: Happy animations (Pixar! XD ), movies with music like August Rush or Once

*Books: Novels (you may not know, cause they are written in Korean) I like reading TIME

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1) Recital and acting: Last semester, I performed four times. Two was piano recital, solo piece and guitar-piano duet. The other two was acting in a play which was directed by a dramaturgist and class teacher. It was a great experience to express myself and communicate with others without saying, but moving my body.

2) Being an AIESECer! AIESEC is the world's largest student-run organisation. It offers young people the opportunity to be global citizens, to change the world, and to get experience and skills that matter today
As an AIESECer, I organized events called study tour, where AIESECers from all over the world get together and learn about one country through traveling and exchanging culture. Also I met so many foreign friends in international conference held by my university's AIESEC.

3) Organize an oversees volunteer program : When I did volunteer work in Philippines, I attended it not only as a volunteer, but also as a leader. I had 25 other co-volunteers to work together. Although it was funded by the university, I drew all the picture of what we will do there. We built a building for the students and draw picture that shows friendship between Filipinos and Koreans. We planed education contents, and culture exchange programs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely share cultures of Korea and Korean if you are interested. Even though you haven't learned Korea, I can teach basic greeting phrases and how to write your name in Korean!

I think I am pretty good in piano although not enough to be a music major, so I can teach you how to play it if you have a keyboard. Or I can play beautiful songs for you ;) That's what I really love, playing songs for people around me.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, China, France, Italy, Japan, Philippines, South Korea, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
