About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to grab every opportunity with open hands :)
ABOUT ME
We are an easy going couple Svava and Gunnar who love to travel and meet new people. We have five children that sometimes live with us so sometimes we are really crowded and sometimes we have a spare room.
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe diem and go with the flow
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We are not accepting requests at the moment as we are travelling.
We try to accept as many guests as work and other duties allow.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We have been hosting since spring 2011, had many visitors from all over the world bringing their stories and experiences with them. Some have become our dear friends while others are a vague nice memory. Svava had two really great experiences as a surfer in Sweden and England. Together we have enjoyed great hospitality in Paris and Italy.
Interests
We enjoy people and experiences, travelling and music. Svava sings with a choir and Gunnar dabbles in photography. Our family is big and we meet them often.

Music, Movies, and Books
My interests are a strange mix of sci-fi and romance, education and technology ;) but my better half likes the philosophies of life, politics and soccer with a bit of Leonard Cohen and theater in the mix.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
too many to count, having children and grandchildren, living life in different careers, travelling at home and abroad.....
Teach, Learn, Share
There is no reason to buy bottled water in Iceland, the tap water tastes great.
If you have general questions about Iceland, what to do and see, when to come etc. please check out CS Iceland wiki page http://wiki.couchsurfing.com/en/Iceland
If you don´t find your answers there you can post your question in the Iceland group http://www.couchsurfing.org/group.html?gid=512
All alcohol is very expensive once you get here, so I suggest stocking up in Duty Free, if you like that sort of thing.
If you want to learn a little Icelandic for your trip, try this site for lessons online, very good:
