Being free and independent, learning from the people I meet, experiencing new things, exploring the world. Lately, I'm focusing on my skills as a travel photographer.

ABOUT ME
I'm interested in getting a feeling for the people and places I go to, enjoy being outdoors, reading, and my laptop is usually with me to work on independent web projects. I also love building things with wood or stone or whatever - though I'm not too experienced. Apart from that, I'm always carrying my analog camera and learning more and more about photography.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's just the best way of traveling: to arrive at a new place and dive right into it by meeting locals, getting the real insights by people that know and love the place they are living in as well as sharing stories, experiences, and interests like going for a walk in the neighborhood, seeing the back streets, hanging in a park, cooking and eating together, visiting a pub at night - anything!

Interests

I love bicycle and hiking tours, back-packing, hitch hiking, and road trips, with the goal of learning about the local culture and people - and to capture a few of those moments.

Trainspotting, Fight Club, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Donnie Darko, American Splendor.
I hardly dare to name a few bands, there are so many I love, to give an idea of the spectrum: Richard Ashcroft, Underworld, Foo Fighters, Fleetwood Mac, Jack Johnson, The White Stripes, Oasis, New Radicals, Gorillaz, The Darkness, and Morcheeba.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Really enjoyed sailing in Greece, the silence, clear blue sea and the amazing starlit sky.
Also, the three weeks road trip through parts of the western USA in 2010 including mountains, the sea, desert and cacti was pretty impressive.
Same for the trip to Romania - I was so impressed by the beautiful nature and the warmth and kindness of the people.
Ok, now it's already three, let's add also one year of road tripping in Australia, the great people I met and simply the experience of freedom by living and moving in a car for such a long period. And my recent cycling adventure all around Taiwan! :-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I might be able to help out with Internet and programming stuff.
I'm not too good in learning languages, still I am trying to get some Mandarin into my brain and slowly slowly it works - learning by doing.
Independently, I'm happy to share what I learned so far about photography.
