ABOUT ME
Hi, my name's Steven.
I absolutely love traveling and getting into crazy adventures. As much as I love partying, I'm equally attracted to museums and historical sites.
Random shit about me: I played college tennis, am a vegetarian, love shopping, used to be a live-in nanny, and had my first courchsurfing experiences in the summer of 2009.
PHILOSOPHY
Takin' it easy. Travel the world, see some amazing things, and meet new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Paris with Julien
Julien knows how to party - lemme tell ya. Julien showed us some great places in the city, had us try crazy liquors, and was a gentleman of a host. And he's coming to boston in november, so we will be reunited at last!
Lisbon with the Joaos
Don't even know where to begin. I met so many great people with the Joao's, had an amazing time at the bonfire, the beach in Sintra, the goth club, exploring the city, sao jorge, and much more.
Hosted Adrian
Amazing dinner at Barcelona in West Hartford. Unfortunately he came during my exam period at work, so I was unable to show him how WILD hartford can be lol.
Hosted Anna
I picked Anna up in Boston since she was surfing with my besties up there. The next few days were just a slice of heaven. We went to Up Or On the Rocks on Sunday and traded stories and secrets. Monday, we went to West Hartford Center and ate up a storm. Tuesday we got greek food and got smoked out by my old roommate. We watched a movie and downed some cheesecake. Then we took a midnight tour of a secret graveyard. It was a blast!
Kickin' it with Lester, Jeff, Kevin, Justin, and Blake
I walked in, hungover as shit, and they offered me a beer. I put my hands to my face and said - no, no, please no beer. Two seconds later, I'm pouring myself a cold one from the keg. Fast forward - beer pong, makers mark; fast forward some more, tossing stools into parking lots; having philosophical discussions and discovering some bomb ass music; scarfing down indian food; throwing up indian food; somehow making it back home for work on monday.
Anna + Anna, my Saarbrucken sisters,
Ok, they weren't actually sisters, but they were awesome! i was working most of the time and wasn't able to host properly, but i still have sweet memories from the time that we did spend together. we had pizza fondue, which was deliciously amazing.
Hosted Katherine
Katherine needed a place to stay before her EMT exam in Hartford. I can tell she's one smart cookie. If you ever see a pregnant hemophiliac get hit by a bus, you better hope Katherine is on the scene.
Hosted Jason
Pfff what to say about Jason. Where to begin? My ex hated it when I had people over to couchsurf (long story), so we broke up because of Jason. So we pretty much boozed, smoked, ate, and shopped the whole weekend. He was mad chill, we exchanged music (ok, I stole a bunch of his music), played some beer pong, went to the Mark Twain house, had some bomb falafel. And now we hang out whenever I'm in Boston.
Hosted Katie
Katie was the best thing that ever happened to a wednesday night. We went to the Deep Purple concert where she scored free front row tickets and backstage passes. How many of your couchsurfers pull that caliber of shenanigans? We met up with the band after the show, but beware the Scandinavian skanks...
Hosted Laura
Love love love this girl. She stayed a whole week which was awesome! We drank a lot - pretty much every night. We made delicious food, hung out with my friends, made new friends, and had several adventures. I must say she really spiced up my week! I think being around the Amish makes her gravitate towards the other end of the spectrum...

Algo increíble que he hecho
I once volunteered at a feeding center in the slums of South Africa. I was in charge of measuring children's height and weight, and comparing it to their age. As a statistician, I correlated the data to a normalized z-score table and I was able to report that almost 80% of the children were malnourished by UN standards. I gave the information to an NPO in the area...but it was sad that I couldn't really do much to help them.
It was definitely a life changing experience - it made me grateful for how privileged I am and for the opportunities given to me.
